Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, PJ Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeedo Kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robinson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kimura quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Robinson controlling the pace.
Robinson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Robinson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kimura on the ground.
Robinson wants to pass to mount but Kimura is defending the position.
Robinson wants to take a breather but Kimura is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. PJ Robinson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Robinson fails to land the takedown.
Robinson tries to clinch but Kimura is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kimura throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Robinson was covering up waiting for the punch and Kimura finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kimura stands and throws Robinson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Robinson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kimura has control of an arm but Robinson manages to advance to Kimura's back!
Robinson wants to control the position but Kimura frees himself and scrambles - Robinson manages to regain control in side control.
Robinson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Kimura works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Kimura slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Robinson sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Robinson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kimura works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kimura managing to control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kimura is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Robinson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kimura manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Robinson has Kimura in his guard.

Kimura is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that PJ Robinson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Robinson misses with a wild body shot.
Robinson shoots in for a takedown but Kimura shows good takedown defense.

Kimura gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Robinson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Robinson preventing the sweep.
Robinson wants to stand but Kimura has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
PJ Robinson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Robinson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kimura not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

PJ Robinson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Robinson misses with the combination.
Kimura with a poor takedown

and Robinson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Robinson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kimura is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kimura is thwarting Robinson's attempts to control the position.
Robinson is controlling Kimura's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Robinson has a hand on Kimura's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Kimura takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Robinson is just holding on here. Kimura manages to take his back.
Robinson trying to control the action but Kimura just sinks the hooks in.

Kimura is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Robinson taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Kimura.
