PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Spike Spiegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hussak Claw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiegel comes into the arena with Tank by The Seatbelts blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Hussak Claw has been cut.
Spiegel swings for the body but Claw moves out of range.
Claw takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Spiegel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Spiegel fails to land with a series of punches.
Claw looks for a takedown but Spiegel sprawls well.
Spiegel throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Donk. Spiegel catches Claw right on the button with a cross.
Spiegel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Spiegel throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Spiegel scores with a one two! Claw had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Spiegel getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Claw is rocked!

That has opened up Hussak Claw's cut even more.
Claw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Spiegel circles away.
Spiegel jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Spiegel leaves Claw with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Spike Spiegel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hussak Claw.
Spiegel's corner calls for a 1-2. Spiegel obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Claw is still on wobbly legs! Can Spiegel finish him?
Claw fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Claw seems to have recovered his senses.
Spiegel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Claw.
The fighters circle momentarily. Spiegel darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

The cut above Hussak Claw's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Claw fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Claw looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spiegel lands a nice looking body shot.

Spiegel lands a left and a right that send Claw crashing to the mat, dazed. Spiegel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Claw takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Spiegel connects with a body shot that sends Claw's belly button to the back.
Spiegel lands a slapping body shot.
Claw takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Spiegel connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Claw's hands.

Hussak Claw's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Claw takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Spiegel lands a big uppercut and Claw crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Claw looks OK. Spiegel waves Claw back to his feet!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hussak Claw's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Spike Spiegel!
In his post fight interview, Spike Spiegel started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
