Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Prowse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Prowse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Prowse, as that shot connected.
Prowse pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Taylor back to the cage. Prowse follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Prowse dips to his left and cracks Taylor with an uppercut!
Prowse throws an overhand right that lands on Taylor's shoulder, as Taylor tries to avoid the shot.

Taylor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Prowse on his heels. He'll look to pass Prowse's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Prowse preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Taylor tries to free his leg and advance position but Prowse is retaining full guard.

Prowse looking for a guillotine here but Taylor defends easily.
Taylor throwing strikes from guard but Prowse blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Prowse wants to sweep here but Taylor controlling him for the moment.

Taylor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Taylor wants to control from the top but Prowse keeps moving.
Prowse controls Taylor momentarily but Taylor frees himself.
Taylor postures up in Prowse's guard and throws a big left but Prowse blocks it.
Taylor works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Prowse is trying to control but can't.
Taylor missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Prowse is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Taylor's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Taylor's back!
Taylor is in bad spot here.
Taylor tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Prowse tries to control but Taylor wriggling away.
Prowse looking to finish Taylor with some ground and pound. This is bad for Taylor!

Prowse trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Prowse looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Prowse cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Taylor is looking to get to half guard.
Taylor is trying to reverse the position but instead Prowse has taken his back - oops!
Taylor is in bad spot here.
Prowse wants to control but Taylor manages to buck him off and is now in Prowse's guard! Nice work there by Taylor!
Taylor throwing strikes but missing.
Taylor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Prowse keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taylor preventing the sweep.
Taylor is looking to work some ground and pound but Prowse has wrist control.
Taylor wants to control from the top but Prowse keeps moving.
Taylor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Prowse looking to hit a scissor sweep but Taylor is one step ahead there.

Taylor postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Prowse is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Taylor, into his guard.
Taylor looks gassed!
Prowse trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom.

Taylor has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Prowse is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Taylor.
Taylor sneaks back into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Prowse is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Taylor has managed to free his arm - good work.
Prowse wants to take a breather but Taylor is having none of it.
Prowse is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Taylor!

Prowse looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taylor is working to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Prowse. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Prowse wants to control the pace but Taylor is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Prowse dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A big left from Prowse misses.
Taylor moves out of range of the strikes.
Taylor moves forwards but Prowse connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Taylor moves away from the strike by Prowse.

Prowse gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Taylor looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor postures up and lands a big shot to Prowse's brow.
Taylor tries to free his leg and advance position but Prowse is retaining full guard.

Prowse working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Taylor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Taylor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Prowse is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Prowse looking for a triangle here. Taylor is fighting it but it looks tight! Prowse pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Taylor is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Tyson Prowse!
