Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deep Fryer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Victor Lopez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Deep Fryer!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice combo by Lopez! Oh, that's hurt him - Fryer falls to the canvas and Lopez follows him into side control.


It looks like Deep Fryer has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lopez decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lopez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fryer.
Fryer tries to clinch there but Lopez circles away.

Fryer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lopez is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Fryer moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Fryer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Fryer content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Lopez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fryer on the ground.

Fryer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Fryer has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lopez misses with a looping right.
Lopez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fryer back to the cage. Lopez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


That has opened up Deep Fryer's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fryer moves out of range of the strikes.
A big left from Lopez misses.
Lopez throws a looping overhand right but Fryer ducks down to avoid it.
Fryer moves in looking to clinch but Lopez pushes him off.
Victor Lopez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fryer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lopez is breathing heavily.
Fryer slows the pace down.
Let's hope that Fryer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fryer works to advance to full mount. Lopez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fryer wants to finish this one by submission but Lopez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fryer.

Lopez is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Fryer with shots to the head and body - Lopez looks very uncomfortable down there.

Fryer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lopez manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Fryer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fryer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lopez on his heels. He'll look to pass Lopez's guard now, I'm sure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lopez won't allow Fryer to pass to mount.

Lopez is trying to stand up here but Fryer is controlling him well.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That was a close round but I would say that Victor Lopez will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Deep Fryer's cut.
That's time! Lopez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Fryer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lopez is fending him off so far but Fryer persists. Nope, Lopez circles away and we're back to standing.
Lopez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lopez throws out a loose jab but Fryer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fryer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A punch combination from Fryer misses.
Deep Fryer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lopez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fryer.
Fryer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Victor Lopez is winning the standup battle so far.

Fryer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lopez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Fryer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The cut above Deep Fryer's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Fryer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lopez throws out the jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lopez looks to land a combination but Fryer avoids it well.
Fryer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fryer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lopez misses with a hook.
Lopez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fryer.
Victor Lopez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deep Fryer.
Fryer ducks right into an uppercut from Lopez.
Fryer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


Deep Fryer's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Lopez is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Fryer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

You get the feeling that Lopez really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Fryer! Submission of the night perhaps?
