Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Quaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Assisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assisi has chosen In The Morning as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Quaid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francis Assisi!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assisi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quaid moves away.
Quaid on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Quaid instigates a clinch.
Quaid tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Quaid is pressed up against the cage. Assisi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Quaid down to the mat. Quaid avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Quaid connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Assisi's hands.
Assisi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quaid but Quaid pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Assisi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Quaid as he avoids it easily.
Douglas Quaid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Francis Assisi.

Quaid fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Assisi, pushing him back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Quaid darts in and clinches Assisi up against the cage.
Quaid struggles to land a body shot inside as Assisi controls his hands.

Assisi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Quaid gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Assisi jumps guard but Quaid turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Quaid throws a knee to the head but misses.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Quaid obliges.

Quaid crunches a lovely knee into Assisi's ribcage.

Quaid creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Assisi's defenses.

A short body shot lands from Quaid as the two fighters clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Quaid lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Assisi or not.

Quaid looking to throw knees to the head but Assisi is blocking nicely.

Assisi is working for takedown but Quaid is calmly controlling the position for now.

Assisi is still on wobbly legs! Can Quaid finish him?

Assisi seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Quaid lands a hook that snaps the head of Assisi backwards.
Quaid unloads a knee to the mid-section. Assisi lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Assisi fails to land the takedown.
Quaid displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Assisi.

Quaid cracks Assisi with an uppercut from hell and Assisi crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Quaid's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Quaid cracks Assisi with an open hand slap.
Quaid throws a jab but it's blocked by Assisi.
Assisi misses with a wild body shot.
Assisi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Quaid counters with a right hand that sends Assisi tumbling to the canvas! Can Quaid finish him? He dives into Assisi's guard looking to do just that!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Assisi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quaid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Quaid is looking to take a break and control but Assisi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Assisi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Assisi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Quaid scores with a couple of nice shots.
Quaid is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Assisi can do to turn this around?
