PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Martin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Song of Ice and Fire Art Collection. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry Potter!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter lands with a straight right. Martin didn't see that one coming.
Potter lunges at Martin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Martin's hand.
Potter tries to clinch up but Martin circles away and keeps his distance.
Potter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Potter enables Martin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Potter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Potter makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Harry Potter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Potter wants to clinch.
Potter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Martin misses with a wild body shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Martin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Potter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Potter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Potter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Martin.

Potter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Potter there as he acknowledges the shot.

Potter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Martin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Martin.

Martin shoots in looking for a takedown but Potter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Martin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Martin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Potter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Martin is defended easily by Potter.

Harry Potter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Martin is proving hard to escape from.
Potter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
George Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Martin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Potter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Martin doesn't seem bothered though.
Oh Martin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Potter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Martin backwards.

Potter creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Martin with a big uppercut! Martin tries to clinch up but Potter pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Martin to the mat! Martin covers up and Potter unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

In his post fight interview, Harry Potter started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
