PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donald Ducker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kong has chosen The Devil Went Down to Georgia as his entrance music. TJ Kong told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donald Ducker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, TJ Kong!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Kong.
Kong throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ducker counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Ducker dodges the punch combination from Kong.
Ducker misses with a body shot.
Ducker does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A left and a right from Ducker both land. Nice combination.
TJ Kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kong lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ducker circles away quickly and effectively.
Kong throws a nice looking combination but Ducker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ducker wants to clinch.
Ducker ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ducker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kong takes one to the side of the head.
Ducker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ducker throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kong on the side of the head.
Ducker dips to his left and cracks Kong with an uppercut!

Sloppy strikes from Kong. Those never looked like landing.
Kong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Ducker uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ducker.
Ducker stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ducker swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Ducker throws a series of punches but Kong avoids them all with ease.
Kong misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kong falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Ducker counter with a right hand.
Ducker lands an overhand right.
Kong looks to land a left hand but Ducker moved out of range nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ducker throws out the jab.
Kong throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ducker.

and Ducker counters with a stiff right hand.
Ducker lands with an uppercut that bounces Kong off the cage and back into range.
A jab lands there for Ducker.
Ducker drops his hands momentarily and Kong takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
No joy there for Kong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ducker's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kong under the eye.

Kong misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ducker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kong jabs Ducker to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ducker scores with a hook to the body. Kong takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kong just misses with a punch to the body.
Ducker tries to close the distance and clinch but Kong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A shot to the liver by Ducker. Beautiful body shot.

Ducker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kong.
Kong misses with a few strikes there.
Kong looks gassed!
Ducker jabs Kong to the body, keeping him at a distance.
No joy there for Ducker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kong is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Ducker scores with a nice right hand.
Ducker lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ducker is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ducker has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Ducker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kong swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kong swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ducker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Kong is rocked!

Kong is holding his hands too far apart here. Ducker throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Kong is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Donald Ducker!
Donald Ducker gave a mention to White Gorilla Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
