Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cruz Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Afro Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Afro Jack has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mendes wants it to stay on the feet.

Mendes feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jacks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Jack throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jack shoots in looking for a takedown. Mendes tries to sprawl out of it but Jack keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mendes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mendes throws a front kick that sends Jack stumbling back into the cage.
Jack tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mendes swivels and escapes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A bit of stalling here from Jack.
Jack is trying to drag Mendes to the mat but Mendes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Mendes wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's time! Mendes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Jack has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Mendes.

Jack gets control of Mendes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jack will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jack holds on and takes a little breather.
Mendes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jack is on top in guard.
Jack postures up in Mendes's guard and throws a big left but Mendes blocks it.
