Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Jakson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Garris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jakson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thriller. Garris comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Blowin Money Fast by: Rick Ross kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rex Garris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Jakson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Garris!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garris walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jakson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Jakson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garris swivels and escapes.
Jakson shoots for a takedown but Garris saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Garris moves into range and clinches up with Jakson.
A head punch on the inside from Garris fails to land.
Jakson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jakson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jakson blocks an uppercut.
Jakson tries to break free but Garris pushes him back against the cage.
Jakson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Garris connects with a knee to the head.
Garris throws a head punch that misses.
Jakson blocks an uppercut.
Jakson throws an elbow but it misses.
Garris dodges an elbow strike from Jakson.
Garris can't find room to land a body shot as Jakson controls the action.
Garris misses with the head strike.
Jakson is trying to break the clinch but Garris has him pressed against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garris tries a knee to the head but Jakson blocks it.
Jakson lands a nice elbow.
Jakson tries to break the clinch but Garris is controlling the position.

Jakson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A head kick misses from Garris.
Garris throws a low kick but Jakson moves out of range easily.
Garris throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Garris takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Garris keeps the fight on the outside.
Garris throws a solid leg kick but Jakson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Garris.
Jakson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jakson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Jakson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Garris tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jakson is in Garris's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Garris keeping full guard, as Jakson tries to pass.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garris looking to control.
Jakson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jakson content to stall in guard here.
Jakson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Garris looking for a sweep. Not yet Garris, not yet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jakson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jakson drops Garris with a beautiful combination! Garris stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jakson is looking for the KO!
A low kick from Garris is predictable there
and Jakson counters with a head kick.


Garris is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jakson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garris as he avoids it easily.
Garris is still on wobbly legs! Can Jakson finish him?
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Jakson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garris thows a leg kick but Jakson checks it
and Jakson counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Garris has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Michael Jakson!
