The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guida closes the distance and clinches up with Riccio, looking for a takedown. Guida pushes Riccio against the cage but Riccio circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Guida or perhaps it was just good defense by Riccio which made him look bad.
Guida shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Riccio but Riccio pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rico Riccio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clay Guida.
Riccio tries to close the distance and clinch but Guida swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Riccio is looking to slow Guida down with leg kicks.
Riccio doesn't manage to clinch there - Guida circles away.
Guida shoots in for a double leg but Riccio sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Guida fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Riccio clinches up with Guida and pushes him back against the cage.
Guida successfully pulls guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Guida looking for a sweep. Not yet Guida, not yet.
Riccio wanted to stand there but Guida had control of the position.
Guida manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Riccio is trying to stand up.
Guida has isolated one of Riccio's arms. Riccio looking to fight him off but Guida twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
