Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DJ Kolat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DJ Kolat has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Kolat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Smith!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Kolat which made him look bad.
Kolat misses with a double jab.
Smith is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kolat.
No joy there for Kolat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith tries to clinch up but Kolat circles away and keeps his distance.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kolat as he jumps to the side.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Kolat pushes him off.
Kolat loads up on a big right hand but Smith slips the punch.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
DJ Kolat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Smith.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smith.
Smith looks to land a right hand but Kolat moved out of range.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kolat looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Smith looks up at the clock and then as Kolat takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Smith smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kolat is looking for a sweep.

Smith scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kolat to see if he's OK.
Kolat takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kolat sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Kolat makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kolat.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kolat is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kolat's guard.

Smith throwing strikes here but Kolat is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Kolat is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are battling for position here. Kolat manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Kolat had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Smith is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kolat Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Smith's back instead.

Smith rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Kolat will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Smith won't allow Kolat to pass to mount.

Smith is looking for a sweep. Kolat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kolat is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now.
Kolat is nestled in close to Smith, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith is refusing to be controlled, as Kolat sits in half guard.

Smith shoots for a takedown but Kolat saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Smith rushes Kolat and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Smith is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kolat can't fight it off and eventually Smith manages to take the fight to the floor. Kolat looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kolat manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

Kolat is bucking up trying to escape but Smith cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Kolat is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smith can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Smith connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kolat some visible discomfort.

A close second round but Jose Smith will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Smith distracts Kolat with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Oh Kolat is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith cracks Kolat with a solid left hand.
Smith gets to his feet and stands over Kolat, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Kolat felt that one! Smith unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Kolat from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jose Smith!
