PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanji Kakashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Run This Town. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tristan Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sanji Kakashi!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robinson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kakashi drags the fight down to the ground.
Kakashi working a defensive guard here.
Kakashi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Robinson's guard.

Robinson pushes Kakashi off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Kakashi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kakashi shoots in but Robinson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Kakashi closes the distance and pushes Robinson back into the cage.

Kakashi successfully pulls guard.
Robinson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kakashi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Robinson manages to get himself to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kakashi wants to control from the top but Robinson keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Robinson wants to stand and escape but Kakashi is having none of it.

Kakashi stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Nice takedown defense from Kakashi. No joy for Robinson on that attempt.
Robinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kakashi tries to avoid it but Robinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kakashi to the ground. Kakashi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Robinson is looking to clinch.
Robinson delivers a nice body kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kakashi is defended easily by Robinson.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kakashi.
Tristan Robinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sanji Kakashi.
Kakashi looks gassed!

Robinson clinches up with Kakashi and pushes him back against the cage.
Kakashi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Robinson.
Kakashi throws an elbow but it misses.
Kakashi is trying to break free.

Robinson tries for a takedown but Kakashi manages to get underhooks.
Kakashi should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Robinson is looking to break free of the clinch but Kakashi has double underhooks.
Kakashi tries to break free but Robinson pushes him back against the cage.
Kakashi is trying to maintain a safe position but Robinson gets an underhook and turns Kakashi into the cage.

Kakashi breaks from the clinch.
Kakashi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kakashi shoots in but Robinson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Robinson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Robinson.

The fight stays on the outside here - Robinson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Robinson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kakashi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Robinson wants to clinch up but Kakashi keeps it at a distance.
Robinson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kakashi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kakashi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Robinson has closed the distance and engaged Kakashi in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Robinson tries to circle away but Kakashi has him pinned against the cage.
Kakashi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Robinson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Robinson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Robinson stuffs the takedown.
Nice uppercut there from Robinson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Robinson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kakashi moves into range and clinches up with Robinson.
Kakashi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Robinson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kakashi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Robinson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Kakashi is working for takedown but Robinson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kakashi has Robinson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Robinson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kakashi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Robinson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kakashi is breathing heavily.
Robinson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Robinson lands with a light punch inside.
Robinson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kakashi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kakashi has Robinson pressed against the cage, preventing Robinson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kakashi's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Kakashi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Robinson's efforts to push away.
Robinson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Robinson is working for takedown but Kakashi is calmly controlling the position for now.
Robinson wants to break free but Kakashi has control.
Robinson goes for a takedown attempt but Kakashi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Robinson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Robinson throws a series of punches but Kakashi avoids them all with ease.

Robinson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Robinson showed some decent athleticism there.
Robinson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kakashi!
Robinson looking to control but Kakashi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Kakashi tries to lock up and control but Robinson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kakashi is desperately trying to improve his position but Robinson has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robinson wants to control the pace but Kakashi is squirming around nicely.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Robinson is landing with some decent strikes but Kakashi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Robinson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Robinson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Robinson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Kakashi misses with a takedown attempt - Robinson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Robinson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kakashi pinned against the cage. Kakashi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kakashi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Robinson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Kakashi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Robinson quickly recovers to half guard.
Robinson looks like he's trying to stand up.

Robinson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kakashi has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Kakashi is looking to take a break and control but Robinson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kakashi swings around for an armbar but Robinson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kakashi's guard.

Tristan Robinson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Robinson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kakashi keeps working.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kakashi won't allow Robinson to pass to mount.

Kakashi is trying to maintain the position but Robinson is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tristan Robinson.
Robinson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Robinson tries to bum rush Kakashi with a series of wild strikes but Kakashi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sloppy strikes from Robinson. Those never looked like landing.
Robinson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Robinson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sanji Kakashi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tristan Robinson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kakashi tries to land a front kick but Robinson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tristan Robinson.
Well Robinson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
