Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alfons Aberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewie Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stewie Griffin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alfons Aberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stewie Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin has Aberg up against the cage in a clinch.

It looks like Alfons Aberg has been cut.

Aberg is trying to trip Griffin. He has hold of a leg but Griffin is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Aberg persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aberg has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Griffin is proving hard to escape from.

Aberg will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Aberg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working.

Aberg decides to stand up, so the ref orders Griffin to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Aberg lands a left hand that snaps the head of Griffin backwards.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alfons Aberg will probably get the nod.

Aberg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Griffin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Griffin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aberg.
Griffin feints a jab promting Aberg to slip. Griffin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Aberg slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Griffin lands with a kick to the ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Griffin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Aberg back to the cage. Griffin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Aberg closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Griffin's guard.

Griffin is working an open guard so Aberg takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Griffin lands with a left to the head.

Aberg is trying to drag Griffin to the mat but Griffin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Griffin is in trouble now - Aberg has advanced to mount!

Aberg has got one arm under Griffin's chin. This could be trouble... Griffin trying to control the other hand but Aberg gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Griffin has tapped out! The fight is over!
