Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thomas Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson looking to score a takedown here. Murkysan is defending well but Patterson drives through and ends up in Murkysan's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Murkysan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Patterson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Patterson is looking to work some ground and pound but Murkysan has wrist control.
Murkysan wants to sweep but no luck.

Murkysan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Murkysan tries to get out of the position.
Patterson pushes down on Murkysan's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Murkysan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Patterson wants to get back to his feet but Murkysan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Murkysan trying to control the position from guard on top but Patterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Murkysan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Murkysan tries to pull guard but Patterson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Patterson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Murkysan has him pressed against the cage.

Patterson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Murkysan asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A lull in the action here as Murkysan stalls from top position.
Patterson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Murkysan is controlling him well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Murkysan has momentary wrist control but Patterson slips an elbow through the middle.
Murkysan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Murkysan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Patterson!
Murkysan wants to control the pace but Patterson is squirming around nicely.
Patterson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Patterson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Murkysan tries to control but Patterson wriggling away.
Murkysan won't let Patterson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
