The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards swinging wildly here.
Funkyama throws a series of punches but Richards moves out of range.
Funkyama uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Richards has time to react.
Funkyama swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Richards looks to land a combination but Funkyama avoids it well.

Richards tries to clinch but Funkyama is having none of it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Richards is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Richards ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Funkyama moves away.
Richards looks to land a right hand but Funkyama moved out of range.

A punch lands to the side of Richards 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Funkyama escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Funkyama loads up on a big right hand but Richards slips the punch.

Funkyama moves into the clinch successfully.
Funkyama lands a nice shot to the body.
Richards tries to circle away but Funkyama has him pinned against the ropes.
Funkyama scores with a nice hook to the head.

Richards has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Funkyama is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Funkyama darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Richards throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Richards.
Richards seems to have recovered his senses.
Funkyama cracks a nice hook into Richards's ribs.

Funkyama moves into the clinch.

Funkyama breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Funkyama stuns Richards with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Richards avoids the body shot from Funkyama.
Funkyama bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Richards's head backwards.
Funkyama shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Richards eats them both and turns towards Funkyama to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Funkyama circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Richards to the canvas! Richards doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Funkyama keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
