Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Vine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rocky Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Mario Vine!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vine sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Martin somewhat.
A combination from Vine does no damage.
Vine tries to clinch up but Martin circles away and keeps his distance.
Vine throws a nice looking combination but Martin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Vine looks for a takedown but Martin sprawls well.
Martin fails with the takedown.
Martin shoots in for a double leg but Vine sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vine throws a head kick that half lands.
Martin shoots in but Vine avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vine misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Vine darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Vine stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Martin to get to his feet.

Martin shoots in for a takedown but Vine shows good takedown defense.
Vine throws a wild body kick that Martin sees coming a mile off.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vine as he jumps to the side.
Martin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Martin is breathing heavily.

Vine shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Vine not doing much here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vine missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Vine.
Vine lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Vine content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mario Vine wasn't active enough on the ground.
Vine tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vine shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Martin but Martin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Vine gets a takedown into half guard.
Martin is trying to stand.
Vine controlling the action here.

Martin manages to escape and get back to his feet!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vine is defended easily by Martin.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vine looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vine tries a head kick but it misses.
A shot to the liver by Vine. Beautiful body shot.

Vine has a takedown stuffed.
Martin takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Vine throws a series of strikes that have Martin backpedaling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vine leaves Martin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vine connects with a jab.
Vine moves in looking to clinch but Martin pushes him off.
Martin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vine tries to avoid it but Martin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vine to the ground. Vine escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Martin has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vine drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Vine wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vine wanted to stand there but Martin had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mario Vine dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Vine shoots in and drives through. Martin sprawls well.
Vine misses with a body kick.
Vine fails with a takedown attempt.
Vine will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Vine decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Martin pushes Vine off looking to stand but Vine dives back in and keeps control.
Vine wants to take a breather but Martin is having none of it.
Martin tries to kick Vine off but Vine keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Vine is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Martin kicks off Vine and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vine tries to clinch up.

Vine shoots in and gets a takedown into Martin's guard.
Martin is looking to stand up but Vine isn't so interested in that idea.

Vine stands and steps away. Martin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Vine lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Vine shoots in and bounces Martin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Vine postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Martin wants to get back to his feet but Vine is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Vine stays in close to Martin's body and controls the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mario Vine wasn't active enough on the ground.

Vine closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Martin's guard.
Vine looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Vine stands up and waves to Martin to follow him.
Vine throws a nice outside leg kick.
Mario Vine seems to be getting the better of the standup.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Martin enables Vine to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Martin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Vine trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom.
Vine won't allow Martin to get back to his feet.

Vine gets to his feet - Martin follows without any prompting.
Danga de danga de dang - Vine scores with a four punch combination!
Rocky Martin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Vine tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Vine shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Vine seems content to control.
Martin wants to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vine is working for a kimura but Martin is defending it quite comfortably.

Martin tries to kick Vine off but Vine keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Vine performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mario Vine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Martin moves out of range of the leg kick from Vine.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vine as he jumps to the side.
Martin stuffs the takedown.
Martin shoots for a takedown but Vine saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vine has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Martin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vine misses with a double jab.

Vine shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Vine is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Martin!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vine trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Vine tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Vine is landing with some decent strikes but Martin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Martin is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Martin is squirming around, avoiding Vine's attempts to control the action.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Martin is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Vine wants to finish this one by submission but Martin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vine.

Mario Vine has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Vine throws out a powerful jab.
Vine lands a glancing blow to the side of Martin's head.
Vine tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Martin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Martin throws a big right hand that misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vine is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Martin is looking to stand up but Vine won't let him.
Rocky Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mario Vine is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Martin throws a strike but Vine rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mario Vine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Vine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
