Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Arlovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arlovski comes to the cage accompanied by Machine Head-Now I Lay Thee Down. Fred Lee will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Arlovski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Lee!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arlovski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Arlovski persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.
Lee scores with a hook to the body. Arlovski takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lee lands with a kick to the temple. Arlovski shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Vladimir Arlovski has been cut.
Lee lands with a straight right. Arlovski didn't see that one coming.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Arlovski misses with a leg kick
enabling Lee to counter with a crisp jab.
Lee takes a swing at Arlovski's ribcage but misses.
Arlovski just misses with a punch to the body.
Lee tries to land a front kick but Arlovski steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Arlovski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Arlovski looks to score with a jab to the body but Lee is just out of range.
Arlovski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lee.

Arlovski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Arlovski showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Arlovski is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Lee reverses the position - he's now on top in Arlovski's guard.

Arlovski lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lee!

Arlovski sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Arlovski prevents Lee from getting the reversal.
Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Arlovski throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Lee avoids a strike by Arlovski and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Arlovski's guard! Fantastic escape!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Arlovski pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage.
Lee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Arlovski can't keep his opponent in guard - Lee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Lee is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Arlovski can't escape the position.

Lee tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Arlovski is looking to get to half guard.

Let's hope that Lee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Arlovski throws a solid leg kick but Lee takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Arlovski.
Arlovski takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Lee moves out of range as Arlovski strikes.
Fred Lee seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Lee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Arlovski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Arlovski throws a hook to the side of Lee's head but Lee sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Lee is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Arlovski rather than just go for the knockout.
Lee on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lee.

Lee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Arlovski keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Arlovski throws a right hand that Lee ducks under and follows up with a left that Lee also avoids with ease.
Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Arlovski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lee moves away.

Lee shoots in but Arlovski avoids the takedown attempt easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lee, as that shot connected.
Lee is looking to chop away at Arlovski's legs.
Lee looks to score with a jab to the body but Arlovski is just out of range.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lee tries to land a front kick but Arlovski steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Lee bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Arlovski's head.
Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Arlovski moves out of range easily.

Arlovski thuds his right hand into Lee's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Arlovski cracks a nice hook into Lee's ribs.
Lee connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Arlovski's hands.

Arlovski throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lee to regain full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fred Lee is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
