The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weed fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Melo throws a solid leg kick but Weed takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Melo.
Melo misses with a looping right.
Felipe Melo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Melo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Melo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Weed doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Melo is tightening it up a little... Weed has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
