PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Drwal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Tetriakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Tetriakov's choice of entrance music: Arsonist's Prayer. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomasz Drwal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Tetriakov!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drwal will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Tetriakov jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Drwal is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Drwal and Tetriakov has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Drwal moves into the clinch successfully.
Tetriakov has Drwal pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Drwal manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Drwal goes for a takedown in the clinch but Tetriakov prevents it.

Tetriakov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Drwal is trying to trip Tetriakov. He has hold of a leg but Tetriakov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Drwal persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Tetriakov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drwal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tetriakov had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Drwal is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tetriakov Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Drwal's back instead.

Drwal closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drwal is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tetriakov is just riding it out for now. Drwal eventually gives up the hold.

Drwal throws a nice looking combination but Tetriakov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
