Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jessy King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Johnson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jessy King!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.
King shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but King keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
King throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing King off to one side.
Chris Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jessy King.
King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
King shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Johnson lands with a kick to the temple. King shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Jessy King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King.
No luck for King with that takedown attempt.

Johnson leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
King takes a kick to the side of the head.
Johnson wants to clinch up but King keeps it at a distance.

Johnson lands a head kick. King smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
King takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

King is trying desperately to land a takedown but Johnson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for King.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Johnson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that King can do to turn this around?

King postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
King working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Johnson's head.

King in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Johnson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as King accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Johnson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jessy King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
