Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Mercado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Shango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mercado might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to CRACK. The crowd seem to be enjoying Shango's choice of entrance music: Johnny Cash - Ain't Gonna Hobo No More. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vinny Shango!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shango closes the distance and clinches up with Mercado, looking for a takedown. Shango pushes Mercado against the cage but Mercado circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A thudding body kick lands there by Mercado!
Vinny Shango seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shango takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Shango tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mercado avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shango lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Chris Mercado has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shango sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mercado's guard.
Shango looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Shango working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.


Chris Mercado's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shango is nestled in close to Mercado, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Our winner, Vinny Shango, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
