PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Happy Brusko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Sinclair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Happy Brusko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Sinclair!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brusko blocks a head kick by Sinclair.
Sinclair tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Brusko feints and as Sinclair raises his hands in defense, Brusko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brusko tries to free his leg and advance position but Sinclair is retaining full guard.

Sinclair has his feet on Brusko's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Brusko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sinclair is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sinclair thows a huge punch but Brusko dodges it nicely.
Sinclair wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brusko keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Brusko closes the distance and clinches up with Sinclair, looking for a takedown. Brusko pushes Sinclair against the cage but Sinclair circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sinclair circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brusko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sinclair but Sinclair pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Happy Brusko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like Happy Brusko has been cut.

Sinclair tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Brusko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sinclair is fending him off so far but Brusko persists. Nope, Sinclair circles away and we're back to standing.

Brusko jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sinclair manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Brusko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sinclair, who protects the arm well.

Sinclair is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Brusko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brusko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Brusko is looking to take a break and control but Sinclair is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brusko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sinclair knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sinclair misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No luck for Brusko with that takedown attempt.
Sinclair lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Brusko closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brusko is just content to waste time from the top position. Sinclair takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Sinclair throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Brusko slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Happy Brusko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brusko has a takedown stuffed.
Brusko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sinclair swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Happy Brusko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sinclair misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sinclair lands with an uppercut that bounces Brusko off the cage and back into rage.
Sinclair feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Brusko's calf.
Brusko closes the distance and clinches up with Sinclair, looking for a takedown. Brusko pushes Sinclair against the cage but Sinclair circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Brusko blocks the body kick.
Sinclair throws a sloppy head kick and Brusko moves out of range easily.
Brusko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Brusko throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brusko shoots for a double leg takedown but Sinclair sprawls well. He's pushed Brusko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Brusko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sinclair looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Brusko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sinclair, who protects the arm well.

Brusko has an Americana. Sinclair didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Brusko is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Brusko hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
