Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Suki Jaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Munoz defends it nicely.
Jaki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Munoz swivels and escapes.
Munoz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jaki fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Munoz sprawls well initially but Jaki persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jaki stops Munoz from getting back to his feet.
Jaki uses his free foot to push down on Munoz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Munoz.
Munoz is bucking up trying to escape but Jaki cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
BOOM! Jaki connects with a massive shot to the dome!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Munoz is trying to stand up.
Jaki lands a big elbow.
Munoz wants to get back to his feet.
Munoz looks gassed!
Jaki working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Munoz turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Jaki off and cradles Munoz's limp body as Jaki celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Suki Jaki!
