Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Roward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petri Saarinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roward comes into the arena with Amazing blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saarinen defending well as Roward loads up on a big left hand.
Saarinen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Saarinen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Roward throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Saarinen counters with a nice body kick.
Roward swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Saarinen scores with a head kick. Roward tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Saarinen moves into the clinch.

Saarinen pulls guard successfully.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roward trying to stand up but can't free himself from Saarinen's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saarinen is on top in guard.
Roward wants to stand and escape but Saarinen is having none of it.

Saarinen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roward swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Saarinen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Roward is looking to stand up but Saarinen isn't so interested in that idea.

Saarinen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roward does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Roward throws a lazy uppercut
and Saarinen counters with a nice leg kick.
Saarinen is looking to slow Roward down with leg kicks.

and Saarinen counters with a big head kick but Roward shrugs it off.

and Saarinen counters with a head kick. That will keep Roward thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Roward bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Roward loads up on a big right hand but Saarinen slips the punch.
Saarinen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Roward.
Saarinen thuds his shin into the meat of Roward's side.
Roward throws out a loose jab but Saarinen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Roward is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

A telegraphed right hand from Roward misses the target.

and Saarinen finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Saarinen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Saarinen tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Roward manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Roward swings widly with a right hand
and Saarinen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Saarinen throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Roward's head.
Roward throws a jab but it's blocked by Saarinen.
Roward fails to land with a series of punches.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Saarinen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Roward.

Saarinen lands a head kick. Roward smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Roward will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Saarinen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Roward is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Roward is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Saarinen's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Saarinen tries to clinch there but Roward circles away.

and Saarinen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Saarinen scores with a head kick. Roward tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Roward shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Saarinen eats them both and turns towards Roward to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Saarinen drives through and clinches with Roward against the ropes.
Roward wants to get back to striking at distance but Saarinen won't allow it.

Saarinen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
