PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tito Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Selleck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ortiz comes into the arena with Break Stuff blaring out of the sound system. Selleck has chosen Hell's Bells as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tito Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dom Selleck!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Selleck misses with a looping left.
Selleck displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Selleck misses with a straight left.
Ortiz walks into a stiff left hand from Selleck.
Selleck throws an overhand right that lands on Ortiz's shoulder, as Ortiz tries to avoid the shot.

Ortiz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Selleck is trying to defend but Ortiz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dom Selleck hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Selleck cracks Ortiz with an open hand slap.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Selleck darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Selleck as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tito Ortiz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Selleck misses with a straight left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

No joy there for Selleck, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Selleck lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ortiz circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice sprawl there from Selleck as Ortiz shoots in.
Ortiz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Selleck fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ortiz.
Selleck listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Selleck throws out a loose jab but Ortiz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ortiz dodges the punch combination from Selleck.
Ortiz moves out of range as Selleck strikes.
Dom Selleck seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A decent looking cross lands there for Selleck.
Ortiz slips under a jab from Selleck.
Ortiz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Selleck.
Ortiz ducks under a wild hook from Selleck.
Selleck with a body punch. A glancing blow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ortiz walks straight into a right hand from Selleck - that's dropped him! Selleck jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Ortiz from any more punishment! Ortiz complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dom Selleck!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Dom Selleck waved his t-shirt featuring Fossington & Blythe: Gentlemen's Fight Attire's logo in front of the cameras.
