Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Micky Elder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elder comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elder shoots for a double leg takedown but Martinez sprawls well. He's pushed Elder's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Elder gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Elder trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Martinez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Elder works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Elder scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Elder decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Martinez is pulling down on Elder's head to control his posture.
Martinez has a closed guard, preventing Elder from standing up.
Martinez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Elder might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Martinez is looking to stand up but Elder isn't so interested in that idea.
Elder has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Martinez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Elder throws a right and a left that Martinez avoids nicely.
Elder swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Elder shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martinez as he avoids it easily.
Elder is breathing heavily.
Martinez has a takedown stuffed.

Martinez gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Martinez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Elder.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micky Elder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Martinez scores with a knee to the head.
Elder tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Martinez smiles and moves away.

Elder dances in with a quick combination. Martinez is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Elder snaps Martinez's head back. Martinez stumbles backwards against the cage. Elder steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Martinez's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Martinez just didn't come prepared.
