Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Cowell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rex KwonDo!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowell shoots and misses

and KwonDo counters with a shoot takedown. Cowell fights it but they end up in guard.
Cowell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Cowell is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. KwonDo is aware though and is defending well.
Cowell is trying to control the position but KwonDo postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
KwonDo tries to free his leg and advance position but Cowell is retaining full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Cowell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
KwonDo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Cowell tries to roll over but KwonDo keeps him under control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cowell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
KwonDo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
KwonDo slips a nice elbow through Cowell's hands, connecting with Cowell's forehead.
Cowell tries to get to full guard but KwonDo has control of the leg.

Cowell moves into full guard.

Cowell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. KwonDo defends it easily.
KwonDo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
KwonDo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cowell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

KwonDo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cowell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. KwonDo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cowell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. KwonDo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. KwonDo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
KwonDo trying to control the position from guard on top but Cowell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
KwonDo passes Cowell's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
KwonDo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cowell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

KwonDo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cowell defends it well.
KwonDo is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

KwonDo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Oh but Cowell is tightening it up a little... KwonDo has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! KwonDo reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! KwonDo taps out! Nice BJJ there by Cowell!
