PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kru Ka Mali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Valderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mali's entrance music is ALL! by Descendents. A fine choice. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mali shoots in but Valderon avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Mali closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Valderon to the mat! Valderon manages to get full guard.
Valderon lands some strikes from the bottom.

Mali looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Valderon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mali works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mali is on top in guard.
Mali tries to free his leg and advance position but Valderon is retaining full guard.
Valderon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Valderon can't keep his opponent in guard - Mali advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mali blocks the strikes from Valderon.
Valderon wants to improve his position but Mali is controlling well.

Valderon throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mali is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Valderon has managed to free his arm - good work.
Valderon moves into full guard.
Mali wants to pass the guard but Valderon is keeping the position.
Valderon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mali manages to get himself to full guard.
Valderon lands a couple of elbows.
Mali really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Valderon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mali swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Valderon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mali tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Valderon is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Valderon passes Mali's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Valderon looks gassed!
Valderon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Mali has hold of Valderon's hands but Valderon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Mali regains full guard. Nicely done.
Mali manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Valderon is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Mali has taken his back.

Mali looking to break Valderon's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Valderon remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mali will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Valderon breaks Mali's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Mali manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Valderon manages to get himself to full guard.
Mali will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mali postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Valderon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mali, into his guard.
Mali manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Valderon manages to get himself to full guard.

Mali uses his free foot to push down on Valderon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Valderon.

Mali has his arm under Valderon's chin here. Game over son! Mali squeezes tightly and Valderon is forced to tap out!
