Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Strikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Larry Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strikes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shaw.
Strikes tries to clinch but Shaw moves away

and Shaw counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Strikes keeping moving, preventing Shaw from controlling successfully.
Strikes has his hands on Shaw's head, controlling the position.

Strikes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shaw is aware though and is defending well.
Shaw looking to sit in guard and control but Strikes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Strikes stays in close to Shaw's body and controls the position.

Shaw tries to strike from the bottom.
Strikes would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Strikes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shaw has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Strikes has managed to get both his arms back between Shaw's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Strikes is fighting to break Shaw's control of his arms but Shaw is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Shaw really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Strikes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Carlos Strikes just wasn't active enough.
Strikes tries to close the distance and clinch but Shaw swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Strikes pinned against the cage. Strikes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Shaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Strikes sprawls well. He's pushed Shaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carlos Strikes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Shaw.
Strikes lands a high kick!


It looks like Larry Shaw has been cut.
Strikes moves in looking to clinch but Shaw pushes him off.
Shaw tries to score a power double leg takedown but Strikes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shaw somewhat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Strikes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Strikes drives through and clinches with Shaw against the cage.

Shaw is trying to drag Strikes to the mat but Strikes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Shaw drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Strikes gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Strikes scores with a head kick. Shaw tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Strikes tries to clinch there but Shaw circles away.
Strikes throws a right hand that Shaw ducks under and follows up with a left that Shaw also avoids with ease.
Strikes sizes up Shaw with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Strikes has closed the distance and engaged Shaw in a clinch.
Strikes is struggling to control the position.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Strikes obliges.
Shaw goes for a takedown in the clinch but Strikes prevents it.

Strikes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Strikes gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Shaw takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Strikes forces Shaw back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A solid leg kick lands there for Strikes.
Strikes wants to clinch up but Shaw keeps it at a distance.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Strikes as he jumps to the side.

Strikes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Strikes throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Shaw.


That has opened up Larry Shaw's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Strikes moves into range and clinches up with Shaw.

Shaw avoids the head kick by Strikes.
Shaw takes a kick to the side of the head.

Some wild striking there from Strikes.
Shaw takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Carlos Strikes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Shaw dives in and scores a takedown into Strikes's guard.
Shaw wants to control from the top but Strikes keeps moving.

Shaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Strikes's waist but Strikes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shaw off to one side.

Strikes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Strikes controls Shaw momentarily but Shaw frees himself.
Strikes is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Strikes wants to sweep but no luck.
Strikes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Carlos Strikes wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Shaw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Strikes circles away.

Strikes drives through and clinches with Shaw against the cage.
Strikes stalls.
Strikes lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Shaw or not.

Shaw goes for a takedown attempt but Strikes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Strikes throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


Shaw is rocked!


Larry Shaw's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Shaw seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Strikes shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Shaw is backing up but Strikes catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Shaw covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Strikes Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Strikes!
Our winner, Carlos Strikes, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
