The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Master tries to bum rush Mcmelon with a series of wild strikes but Mcmelon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mcmelon defending well as Master loads up on a big left hand.
Master throws a nice looking combination but Mcmelon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Master looks to land a combination but Mcmelon avoids it well.
Mcmelon showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Master.
Master tries to close the distance and clinch but Mcmelon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Master misses with a wild combination.
Mcmelon defending well as Master loads up on a big left hand.

Mcmelon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mcmelon lands in his opponent's guard.
Mcmelon slips nicely into half guard.

Mcmelon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Master really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcmelon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mcmelon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Master is just riding it out for now. Mcmelon eventually gives up the hold.

Mcmelon works his foot free and advances to mount.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Master looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Mcmelon! Submission of the night perhaps?
