Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Adam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam's entrance music is LOSTPROPHETS - Burn Burn. A fine choice. Frank Mir will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan Adam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adam tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Mir paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into Adam's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Adam wants to get back to his feet but Mir is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mir wants to get up but he can't break Adam's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Adam wants to stand but Mir is controlling the position.
Mir is looking to work some ground and pound but Adam has wrist control.
Mir trying to stand up but can't free himself from Adam's guard.
Adam keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully.
Mir stays in close to Adam's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Frank Mir.
Adam showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mir.
Mir is looking to clinch.

Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Mir is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Mir is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Adam kicks Mir off and gets back to his feet.

Mir closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Mir shoots in and bounces Adam off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Adam is looking to stand up but Mir isn't so interested in that idea.

Adam trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mir stands and steps away. Adam gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mir keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Adam is looking to clinch but Mir is avoiding it.

Mir looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mir works his way into side control.

Adam throws Mir to one side and escapes!
Mir tries to clinch but Adam is having none of it.

Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mir showed some decent athleticism there.
Mir seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Adam does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mir is breathing heavily.

Adam is looking to escape.
Mir works his foot free and advances to mount.
Adam is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Mir trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mir controlling the pace for now.
Adam is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Mir tries to control but Adam wriggling away.
Mir throws some wild stikes that Adam manages to avoid easily.

Adam on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Adam tries to get out of the position.

Adam is squirming around, avoiding Mir's attempts to control the action.
Adam knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mir on the ground.

Mir wants to finish this one by submission but Adam is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mir.

Frank Mir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Adam moves in looking to clinch but Mir pushes him off.
Ryan Adam is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Adam throws a one two combo.

Adam throws a looping overhand right but Mir ducks down to avoid it.

Adam throws a jab but it's blocked by Mir.

Mir fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Adam sprawls well initially but Mir persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mir missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Mir stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Adam doesn't manage to clinch there - Mir circles away.

A head kick misses from Mir.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Adam tries to clinch there but Mir circles away.
Adam cracks Mir with a good jab.
Adam fails to land with a series of punches.
Adam is looking to clinch.

Mir closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Adam quickly recovers to half guard.
Adam wants to get back to his feet.

Mir is trying to control the action in half guard but Adam is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Adam wants to get back to his feet.
Mir throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Mir is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Frank Mir has got the better of the ground game so far.

Adam pushes Mir off and gets back to his feet.

Mir closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Adam quickly recovers to half guard.
Adam wants to get back to his feet.

Mir decides to stand and escape the position.
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch but Adam swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mir throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Adam tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mir is in Adam's guard.

Mir stops Adam from standing up.
Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Adam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Adam scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Adam looks to land a combination but Mir avoids it well.
Adam throws a hook to the side of Mir's head but Mir sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Mir fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Adam, pushing him back against the ropes.
Adam changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mir fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Adam enables Mir to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Adam manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ryan Adam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frank Mir is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mir wants to control from the top but Adam keeps moving.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Mir comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mir winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
