Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Rodwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harper Pool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodwell comes to the cage accompanied by Pitbull - I know you want me. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Rodwell. Pool does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pool is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A thudding body kick lands there by Pool!
Pool lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rodwell's sensitive parts.
Rodwell shoots in for a takedown but Pool shows good takedown defense.
Pool tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rodwell counters with a one-two to the body.
Rodwell misses with a hook
and Pool cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rodwell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pool shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Pool wants to clinch up but Rodwell keeps it at a distance.
Rodwell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pool connects with a solid leg kick.

Pool throws a head kick but Rodwell moves out of range.
Pool wants to slow Rodwell down by chopping away at his legs.
Rodwell takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pool.
Rodwell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Rodwell steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pool. That one must have hurt.
Pool finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
An inside leg kick lands from Pool.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pool, right into the meat.

Pool rushes Rodwell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pool tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rodwell's elbow.

Pool pushes Rodwell off looking to stand but Rodwell dives back in and keeps control.

Rodwell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Dave Rodwell wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Pool throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Rodwell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pool doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Pool tries to close the distance and clinch but Rodwell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rodwell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rodwell is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rodwell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pool is fending him off so far but Rodwell persists. Nope, Pool circles away and we're back to standing.
Rodwell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pool but Pool pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Pool takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Pool tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rodwell paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rodwell thuds his right hand into Pool's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rodwell is defended easily by Pool.

Pool tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Harper Pool is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Rodwell has Pool pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pool manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
