PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yo Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ping comes to the cage accompanied by Die hard. Davis has chosen YMCA as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yo Ping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dick Davis!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Davis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice sprawl there from Ping as Davis shoots in.
Davis works over Ping's head and body with a nice combination.
Ping throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ping closes the distance but Davis moves to the side

and Davis counters with a shoot takedown. Ping fights it but they end up in guard.
Ping wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.

Ping manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Ping closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ping slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ping has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Ping wants to control the pace but Davis is squirming around nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ping is really struggling to control Davis but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Davis is desperately trying to improve his position but Ping has a good base and remains in mount.
Davis looks gassed!
Ping looking to control and managing it successfully.
Davis regains half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Davis trying to get back to full guard but Ping takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Ping controlling the position easily from mount.

Ping stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Ping moves into the clinch.
Ping lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Ping manages to break the clinch.

Ping rushes Davis and presses him up against the cage.
Davis tries to pull guard but Ping won't allow it.
Yo Ping has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dick Davis.
Ping connects with a knee to the head.

Ping jumps guard and drags Davis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Davis trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Ping manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Davis has his foot on Ping's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ping works his way back into a safe position though.

Ping has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Davis celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
