The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hardy closes the distance and pushes Stroud back into the cage.

Stroud has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hardy regains guard immediately.
Stroud controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Stroud wants to pass the guard but Hardy is keeping the position.

Stroud stops Hardy from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stroud seems to be working for a kimura but Hardy defends the submission attempt.

Stroud is taking a breather. Hardy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Stroud is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Stroud is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

It looks like Merv Hardy has been cut.
Stroud uses his free foot to push down on Hardy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hardy.
Stroud has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hardy's face.

Hardy is rocked!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stroud cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Hardy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Stroud is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Hardy goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Stroud!
