The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buford throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shittu scores with a body shot.
Horrible takedown by Shittu or perhaps it was just good defense by Buford which made him look bad.
Shittu scores with a hook to the body. Buford takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Buford is breathing heavily.
Shittu fails with the takedown.
Shittu cracks Buford with an uppercut from hell and Buford crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Shittu's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Buford is rocked!
It looks like Marcus Buford has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shittu sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Buford is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Buford keeping moving, preventing Shittu from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shittu won't allow Buford to get back to his feet.
Shittu trying to control but Buford is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Buford lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Minowa Shittu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buford fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shittu misses with a hook
and Buford counters with a left and a right... And another left! Shittu is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
