Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carmelo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allen has chosen The Realest Sport as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carmelo Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Allen!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen looks for a takedown but Sanchez sprawls well.
Allen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Allen slips a jab and a cross from Sanchez.

Allen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.
Sanchez tries to hold on but Allen pushes him away.

Allen looking to secure an arm triangle but Sanchez defends it well.
A nice elbow there by Allen.
Sanchez tries to lock up and control but Allen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Allen looking to ground and pound but Sanchez is blocking nicely.
Allen content just to control the position here.
Allen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sanchez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Sanchez tries to hold on but Allen pushes him away.

Sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Allen looking for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez is having none of it.

Poor strikes thrown by Allen there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Allen wants to control the pace but Sanchez is squirming around nicely.
Sanchez can't escape the position.
Allen controlling the position easily from mount.

Allen working for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez is in no mood to give up.

Allen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sanchez has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Allen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sanchez manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Allen tries to advance to mount but Sanchez denies him.
Allen working away.
Allen wants to control but Sanchez is keeping him busy.

Sanchez sneaks out the side door and pushes Allen away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Sanchez punishes Allen's body with a nice straight punch.
A head kick misses from Sanchez.
Allen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sanchez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Carmelo Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Allen.
Sanchez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sanchez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sanchez slaps away a takedown attempt from Allen, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Sanchez swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Allen.

Allen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Allen showed some decent athleticism there.

Sanchez kicks off Allen and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Allen dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sanchez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sanchez stalks Allen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Allen's face. Allen staggers backwards, shaken.
Sanchez throws a series of strikes that have Allen backpedaling.

Sanchez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Allen's guard.

Allen scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Allen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sanchez misses with a double jab

and Allen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Allen won't allow Sanchez to get back to his feet.
Sanchez keeping full guard, as Allen tries to pass.
Allen throws an elbow that misses. Sanchez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Allen's guard. Nice move by Sanchez!
Sanchez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sanchez wants to control from the top but Allen keeps moving.
Allen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sanchez wants to stand but Allen is controlling his posture from full guard.
Allen wants to stand up but Sanchez is controlling him.

Sanchez wants to get up but he can't break Allen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Allen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sanchez is stalling in the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Allen moves out of range of the strikes.
Nice sprawl there from Sanchez as Allen shoots in.
Jason Allen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Allen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sanchez to score with a decent uppercut.
Allen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side.
Allen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.

Allen sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Allen pushes Sanchez off looking to stand but Sanchez dives back in and keeps control.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Allen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sanchez as he avoids it easily.
Sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but Allen sprawls well. He's pushed Sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Allen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Allen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sanchez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Allen in his tracks.
Sanchez misses with a head kick.
Allen fails with the takedown.

Sanchez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Allen.
Allen closes the distance and clinches up with Sanchez, looking for a takedown. Allen pushes Sanchez against the cage but Sanchez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Allen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Sanchez counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Allen wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.

Sanchez stands up out of the half guard.
Allen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.
Allen walks into a left hand.

Sanchez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Allen to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Sanchez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Sanchez stops a takedown attempt from Allen.
Allen drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sanchez tries to break the clinch but Allen is controlling the position.
Sanchez tries to score a body lock takedown but Allen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Allen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanchez misses with a lunging right hand
and Allen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sanchez is looking to chop away at Allen's legs.
Sanchez misses with a low kick as Allen jumps back.
Sanchez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Allen.

Sanchez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Allen.
Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Sanchez. No joy for Allen on that attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Allen shoots in but Sanchez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sanchez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sanchez looks to throw the jab but Allen is out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Carmelo Sanchez showed his dominance in that final round.
