The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vartanov tries for a takedown but Nassoon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Jorik Vartanov will probably get the nod.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nassoon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nassoon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Vartanov has gone for a leg lock! Nassoon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vartanov's guard.

Nassoon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Vartanov has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Nassoon should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Vartanov has tightened it up now! Nassoon should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
