Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Matos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pitbull comes to the cage accompanied by Parado na Esquina. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo Pitbull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Matos!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Matos, as that shot connected.
Pitbull shoots in but Matos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pitbull tries to clinch
and Matos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pitbull tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pitbull has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Pitbull takes one on the button.

Matos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pitbull to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Matos wants to get back to his feet but Pitbull is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Pitbull trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Matos wants to stand and escape but Pitbull is having none of it.
Matos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pitbull. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Matos kicks Pitbull off and gets to his feet.
Ronaldo Pitbull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matos lands the left hand.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pitbull.
Matos catches Pitbull with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Pitbull clinches.
Pitbull tries to pull guard but Matos holds him up against the cage and eventually Pitbull drops back down to his feet.

Matos lands a lovely overhand right.

Matos wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pitbull has him pressed against the cage.
Pitbull jumps guard but Matos turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Pitbull creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Pitbull goes for a takedown attempt but Matos pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vitor Matos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Matos throws a right hand that Pitbull ducks under and follows up with a left that Pitbull also avoids with ease.

Pitbull has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Matos cracks Pitbull with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Matos throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pitbull sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Matos stuffs the takedown attempt from Pitbull. Pitbull gets slowly back to his feet.
Matos with a nice cross.
Pitbull swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Matos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pitbull misses with a takedown
and Matos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Matos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Matos blocks a jab.
Matos moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Pitbull doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Matos cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Donk. Matos catches Pitbull right on the button with a cross.
Matos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pitbull.
Pitbull fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Matos connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pitbull. Pitbull circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Pitbull misses with a takedown attempt - Matos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Matos misses with a few strikes there.
Matos lands a jab to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Matos missing with a left hand there. Pitbull was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Matos lunges at Pitbull with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pitbull's hand.
Pitbull walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vitor Matos will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Pitbull needs to keep his hands up - Matos had a free shot at his head there.

Pitbull looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Matos kicks off Pitbull and gets to his feet.
Matos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Pitbull shoots in and bounces Matos off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matos wants to stand but Pitbull is controlling the position.
Matos being controlled here, momentarily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matos can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pitbull stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Pitbull throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Pitbull misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pitbull gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Matos misses with a hook.
Matos lands a jab.
Pitbull showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Matos.
Pitbull shoots in for a takedown but Matos shows good takedown defense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pitbull shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matos as he avoids it easily.
Pitbull misses with a low kick.
Pitbull tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Matos paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ronaldo Pitbull is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A left and a right from Matos both land. Nice combination.
Matos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pitbull.

Nice straight punches there by Matos. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Matos.

Matos throws an overhand right that lands on Pitbull's shoulder, as Pitbull tries to avoid the shot.
Matos avoids a punch combination nicely.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pitbull wants to clinch up but Matos keeps it at a distance.
Nice shot lands for Matos.
Matos misses with a hook.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pitbull. Matos does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pitbull shoots for a double leg takedown but Matos sprawls well. He's pushed Pitbull's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pitbull misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pitbull throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Matos's waist but Matos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pitbull off to one side.
Pitbull will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Some wild striking there from Matos.
Pitbull moves forwards but Matos connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Pitbull shoots in looking for a takedown but Matos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pitbull's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Matos leaves Pitbull with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Matos lands with a straight right. Pitbull didn't see that one coming.
A right-left combo lands from Matos.
Matos lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Matos.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pitbull will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pitbull misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Matos might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Matos lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ronaldo Pitbull will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Matos clobbers Pitbull with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Pitbull will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pitbull misses with a low kick as Matos jumps back.
Matos stuffs the takedown attempt from Pitbull. Pitbull gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pitbull dives in and grabs Matos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Matos pushes down on Pitbull's head and hops out.
Matos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Matos wants it to stay on the feet.
Matos fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Pitbull tries a head kick but it misses.
Matos uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Pitbull takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Matos throws a series of strikes that have Pitbull backpedaling.

Pitbull shoots for a double leg takedown but Matos sprawls well. He's pushed Pitbull's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pitbull tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matos swivels and escapes.
Matos throws out a powerful jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pitbull closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matos circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pitbull has time to react.
Matos bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pitbull's head backwards.
The fighters circle momentarily. Matos darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vitor Matos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Matos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
