Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Blanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Blanks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Powers throws a looping overhand right but Blanks ducks down to avoid it.
Matt Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powers tries to clinch up but Blanks circles away and keeps his distance.

Blanks shoots in but Powers avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Blanks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Powers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Powers stands and throws Blanks's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Blanks tries to buck Powers off but Powers is having none of it.

Blanks manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Blanks winds up and cracks Powers with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blanks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Powers is fending him off so far but Blanks persists. Nope, Powers circles away and we're back to standing.

Blanks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Powers.

Kurt Blanks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Blanks has control of Powers's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Powers regains control of the situation pretty easily.
