Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takeshita Otsuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenta Yamashita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshita Otsuma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenta Yamashita!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamashita avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yamashita gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Otsuma counters with a left and a right that stings Yamashita.
Otsuma fails with a takedown attempt.
Otsuma throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yamashita's waist but Yamashita gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Otsuma off to one side.
Otsuma moves in looking to clinch but Yamashita pushes him off.

Otsuma clinches up against the cage.
Otsuma stalls.
Otsuma can't break the clinch.
Otsuma is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Yamashita gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Yamashita is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Otsuma tries to kick Yamashita off in order to stand up. Yamashita Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Otsuma wants to control but Yamashita postures up.
Otsuma trying to remain calm as Yamashita controls from the top position.
Let's hope that Yamashita has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Otsuma tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Otsuma tries to buck Yamashita off but Yamashita is having none of it.
Otsuma wants to control but Yamashita postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Yamashita fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Otsuma avoids it really well and circles away.
Otsuma shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yamashita as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takeshita Otsuma. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Otsuma is breathing heavily.
Yamashita stuffs the takedown.
Yamashita fails to land the takedown.
Otsuma misses with a two punch combination.
Yamashita shoots for a takedown but Otsuma saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Yamashita fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Yamashita shoots in but Otsuma avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Yamashita shoots in for a takedown but Otsuma shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Otsuma closes the distance and clinches up with Yamashita, looking for a takedown. Otsuma pushes Yamashita against the cage but Yamashita circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Otsuma throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Otsuma really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Otsuma tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yamashita swivels and escapes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Yamashita misses with a takedown attempt - Otsuma sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

A close round but Kenta Yamashita will probably get the nod.

Yamashita changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Otsuma looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Otsuma pushes Yamashita away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Yamashita gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kenta Yamashita was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Yamashita shoots for a takedown but Otsuma saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Otsuma stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Otsuma wants it to stay on the feet.
Otsuma shoots in looking for a takedown but Yamashita manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Otsuma's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Yamashita has control of Otsuma's left arm, preventing Otsuma from doing any damage.

Yamashita seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yamashita is defended easily by Otsuma.
Takeshita Otsuma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenta Yamashita.

Yamashita dives in and grabs Otsuma's left leg, looking for a takedown. Otsuma pushes down on Yamashita's head and hops out.

and Otsuma counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yamashita thinking.
Otsuma moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Yamashita shoots in for a takedown but Otsuma shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Otsuma lands a nice shot to the body.
Yamashita shoots for a double leg takedown but Otsuma sprawls well. He's pushed Yamashita's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Yamashita tries to keep at a distance but Otsuma has taken the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Takeshita Otsuma will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

BOOM! Otsuma connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Otsuma misses with a head shot.

Yamashita is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Otsuma trying to control but Yamashita is having none of it.
Kenta Yamashita has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Otsuma lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Otsuma wants to control the pace but Yamashita is squirming around nicely.
Otsuma working the ground and pound effectively.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yamashita wants to hold on but Otsuma pushes him away.
Yamashita bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Otsuma tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Otsuma wants to get back to his feet but Yamashita is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Otsuma is trying to control Yamashita's posture but Yamashita avoids it.

You can see the frustration on Otsuma's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Yamashita moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Kenta Yamashita has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Otsuma tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yamashita swats him away and circles back towards the center.

And that's the end of the fight!
Takeshita Otsuma showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Otsuma has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
