Valadez has chosen Rock of ages as his entrance music. David Valadez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lander Plast's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plast fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Plast.

Valadez clinches.
Plast wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lander Plast. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Valadez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Plast clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Valadez is trying to stick to Plast's back but Plast is turning into Valadez. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Valadez's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Plast.

Plast drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Plast jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Plast forces his way into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Plast is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Plast is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Valadez defends it well.
Valadez is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Plast is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Valadez is just riding it out for now. Plast eventually gives up the hold.

Plast is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Valadez has managed to free his arm - good work.

Plast has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Valadez defend it? Plast steps over the head and cranks it - Valadez is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Plast!
