Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julien Denis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremy King has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julien Denis!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King shoots in for a double leg but Denis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Denis misses with a body shot.
Sloppy strikes from Denis. Those never looked like landing.
King lunges at Denis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Denis's hand.
No luck with that takedown attempt from King.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from King.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Denis throws a body punch but King moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A combination from Denis does no damage.
Denis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King.
Denis throws a series of punches but King moves out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Denis closes the distance and clinches.

Denis tightens his grip and picks King up, before dumping him to the ground. King manages to land in guard.
Denis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of King is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King controlling the position.
Denis tries to stand but King is controlling from the bottom.

Denis stands and steps away. King gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Denis is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Denis circles away and we're back to standing.

King fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Denis closes the distance and pushes King back into the cage.

King jumps guard and drags Denis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Denis wants to stand and escape but instead King has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
King throws a big elbow that misses.
King prevents Denis from getting back to his feet.

King drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and King jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
King has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Denis looks gassed!
King is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jeremy King just wasn't active enough.

Denis gets caught flat footed, as King shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeremy King will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Denis finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Denis as King shoots in.
Denis throws a right and a left that King avoids nicely.
Julien Denis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Denis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
King tried to score with a low kick but Denis checks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King looks for a takedown but Denis sprawls well.
King throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Denis's waist but Denis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing King off to one side.

Denis throws a right and a left that King avoids nicely.
A punch combination from Denis misses.
King misses with a takedown attempt - Denis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Denis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.
Denis throws a sloppy head kick and King moves out of range easily.
Denis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
King fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Denis throws a leg kick which misses King's front leg but catches the back leg as King tries to avoid it.
Denis throws a predictable looking body shot

and King counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Denis's guard now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Denis wants to stand up but King is controlling him.
King looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Denis is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
King controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jeremy King.
Denis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Denis has managed to clinch.
Denis trying to stall but King improves his position.

King decides to pull guard.
Denis wants to stand and escape but instead King has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jeremy King will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Denis wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if King is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
King lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Denis tries to kick King off but King keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Jeremy King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. King connects with a nice short shot to Denis's temple.
King has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Denis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Denis is in a horrible position here. King smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
King content just to control the position here.

King is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Denis can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

You get the feeling that Denis really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
King breaks from Denis's wrist control and lands an elbow.

King wants to finish this one by submission but Denis is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from King.

Denis is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
King sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

King is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Denis to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Denis shrugs it off.

Jeremy King is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
