Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Langol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Diamond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Langol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Diamond !
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Diamond or perhaps it was just good defense by Langol which made him look bad.
Langol tries to clinch but Diamond moves out of range.
Diamond misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Josh Diamond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Langol wants to clinch.

Langol moves into range and clinches up with Diamond .

Diamond turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Diamond manages to end up in side control.
Langol is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Diamond asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Diamond is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Langol is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Diamond tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diamond has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Diamond moves into full mount!

Langol is trying to stand up.
Diamond unloads with some shots from mount but Langol bucks and avoids them well.
Diamond punching from mount but Langol doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Diamond putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diamond is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Langol has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Diamond is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Langol is surviving well by controlling Diamond 's body position as best he can.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diamond fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diamond is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Langol to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Langol shrugs it off.

Diamond looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Langol wants to control but Diamond is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Diamond is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Langol can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Diamond goes for an armbar but Langol turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Langol.

Diamond looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Langol is fending him off so far but Diamond persists. Nope, Langol circles away and we're back to standing.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Diamond . He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Langol has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Diamond is proving hard to escape from.

Langol got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diamond has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Langol has managed to get both his arms back between Diamond 's legs - danger averted.

Diamond misses with a takedown attempt

and Langol counters with a nice double leg into side control. Diamond won't be happy with that.

Diamond is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Langol tries to stand but Diamond is controlling his head.
Diamond tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Langol presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Langol really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Diamond tries to lock up and control but Langol gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Langol takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Diamond is working to get back to half guard.

Langol wants to control the action but instead Diamond gets a body lock and reverses into Langol's guard! Nice work!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Diamond fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Langol to the ground. Diamond is now in Langol's guard.

Langol knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diamond on the ground.
Langol tries to kick Diamond off but Diamond keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Diamond is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Langol has managed to free his arm - good work.
Diamond seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Langol does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Diamond has hold of Langol's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Langol manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Langol tries to hold on but Diamond postures up.

Diamond is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Langol has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Langol!

Diamond looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Langol wanted to stand there but Diamond had control of the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Josh Diamond comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Diamond has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
