Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Niels Van Burren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McKenzie's choice of entrance music: Flower Of Scotland. Rob McKenzie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Burren with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Van Burren looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McKenzie showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Van Burren.
Van Burren lands a head shot.
McKenzie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Van Burren throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McKenzie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Van Burren tries to close the distance and clinch but McKenzie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Van Burren throws a series of punches but McKenzie moves out of range.
Van Burren fails to land the takedown.
Niels Van Burren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Burren looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Van Burren misses with a few strikes there.
McKenzie swings for the body but Van Burren moves out of range.
Van Burren tries for a takedown but McKenzie circles away easily
and McKenzie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Van Burren won't be happy with that.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

McKenzie is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Van Burren is trying to escape and McKenzie transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Van Burren is forced to tap! Nice work there by McKenzie! Very nice indeed!
