Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Verona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herb Hurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Verona might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dawn Patrol by The Eliminators. Herb Hurt has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Andre Verona's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verona slaps away a takedown attempt from Hurt, before circling back to the center of the mat.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Verona creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Hurt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Verona looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Verona comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hurt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hurt shoots for a double leg takedown but Verona sprawls well. He's pushed Hurt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Andre Verona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herb Hurt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
