PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wiggum Ralph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Fenili (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wiggum Ralph!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Fenili!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ralph throws a low kick, looking for Fenili's leg but Fenili calmly moves out of range.
Ralph thuds a left hand into Fenili's body.
Fenili fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Fenili feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fenili stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ralph swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ralph utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fenili drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ralph manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fenili has Ralph in his guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Fenili closes the distance and clinches up with Ralph, looking for a takedown. Fenili pushes Ralph against the cage but Ralph circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Ralph here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Fenili tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fenili has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fenili's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

After the fight, Wiggum Ralph was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
