The crowd seem to be enjoying Lake's choice of entrance music: Straight outta Surrey. Martti Nakutin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lake closes the distance and clinches.
Nakutin lands with a light punch inside.
Nakutin lands with a left to the head.
Nakutin scores a nice knee to the body.

Nakutin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lake throws a body punch but Nakutin moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Nakutin.

and Nakutin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Lake is looking to clinch but Nakutin is avoiding it.
Martti Nakutin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nakutin throws a nice inside leg kick.
Lake tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nakutin swivels and escapes.
Lake tries to close the distance and clinch but Nakutin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lake misses with a hook. Nakutin ducked under it nicely.

and Nakutin counters with a thumping low kick.

A slapping leg kick lands for Nakutin.
Lake shoots in for a double leg but Nakutin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nakutin lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Lake shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nakutin but Nakutin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Martti Nakutin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Lake.

Nakutin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Nakutin throws a hook but Lake avoids it easily.
Nakutin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Nakutin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lake.
Nakutin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Lake ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nakutin moves away.
Nakutin works over Lake's head and body with a nice combination.
Lake darts in trying to clinch
and Nakutin counters with a left to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nakutin finds Lake's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Lake flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Nakutin lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Lake will be OK.
