Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jason McNeil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Glen Starner!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starner throws a hook but McNeil avoids it easily.
Starner misses with an uppercut.
McNeil throws a leg kick but Starner checks it.
Some wild striking there from Starner.
Starner on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nice cross by McNeil.
McNeil misses with a takedown
and Starner counters with a nice body shot.
McNeil shoots in but Starner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Starner fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McNeil looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McNeil lands a jab.
McNeil takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Starner throws a jab but it's blocked by McNeil.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Starner throws an overhand right that lands on McNeil's shoulder, as McNeil tries to avoid the shot.
Starner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McNeil lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Starner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McNeil will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason McNeil. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McNeil changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Starner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Starner is trying to get back to half guard.
Starner parries the strikes from McNeil easily there. McNeil is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Starner to escape.

McNeil working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
McNeil wants to control but Starner is keeping him busy.

McNeil has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Starner is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. McNeil yanks on the arm and Starner is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by McNeil.
