Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royce Gracie looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Head checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gracie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Head.
Gracie tries to bum rush Head with a series of wild strikes but Head uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Head misses with a double jab.
Head throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
Gracie tries to clinch up but Head circles away and keeps his distance.
Head closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Gracie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gracie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Head fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Head in particular looking to stall.

Head must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Head fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gracie, pushing him back against the cage.

Head breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Head is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it.
Head is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie decides to stand up, so the ref orders Head to his feet.
Head misses with a series of wild punches.
Head misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gracie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Head pushes Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.

Head scores with a shoulder strike.

Head escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.

Gracie tries to clinch but Head is having none of it.

Head is pressed up against the cage. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Head down to the mat. Head avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Head rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gracie comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Head throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Head shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gracie but Gracie pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Head can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Head knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Head tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Head bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Head stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet.
Gracie slips a jab and a cross from Head.
Gracie throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Head looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Head throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.

Head moves into range and clinches up with Gracie.

Head escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gracie misses with a double jab.
Head misses with a series of wild punches.
Head shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gracie.

Gracie is working to tighten is grip on Head's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Head has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Head passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
