Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Katla Vanagandr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Deiter Myers!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myers tries a head kick but it misses.
Myers misses with a body shot.
Myers throws a hook but Vanagandr blocks it.
No joy there for Vanagandr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vanagandr avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vanagandr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Myers.
Vanagandr scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
It looks like Deiter Myers has been cut.
Vanagandr stuns Myers with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Myers fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Myers throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Vanagandr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Vanagandr getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Vanagandr lands a body shot.
Myers looks gassed!
Myers takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vanagandr lands with a good body shot.
Vanagandr lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Myers at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vanagandr drops Myers with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Myers looks back up at him and smiles so Vanagandr waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Myers takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Myers's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vanagandr connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Myers scrambles back to his feet.
That has opened up Deiter Myers's cut even more.
Katla Vanagandr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vanagandr cracks Myers with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Vanagandr has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Myers to stand back up!
Myers is rocked!
Vanagandr connects with a stiff jab that staggers Myers - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Katla Vanagandr!
In his post fight interview, Katla Vanagandr gave a big smile as he said 'Full damage, POW right in the kisser!'.
